  • What is VIPS?

    VIPS is a Houston ISD program that facilitates community involvement in schools. 

  • How to become a VIPS volunteer:

    • Register online: Individuals need to register through the online portal, which is typically accessible through the HISD website or the school's website. 
    • Background check: All volunteers must pass an annual criminal background check, which can take a few days to process. 
    • Identification: Volunteers need to provide valid identification, such as a driver's license or passport, to verify their identity during the registration and check-in process. 

As a VIPS-approved volunteer, you can:

  • Assist with the school store
  • Help organize and support school events
  • Participate in family engagement nights
  • Join efforts to build school spirit and community pride
  • Ms. Gamez will guide parents through the VIPS registration process and help match your interests with available opportunities. Let’s work together to make this year unforgettable for our students!
